Houston Astros Select Brady Aiken No. 1 Overall In 2014 Draft

The Houston Astros hit the jackpot again landing 17-year-old high school sensation Brady Aiken with the first pick of the 2014 MLB draft. Aiken is a left hand pitcher from Cathedral Catholic HS in San Diego and is the first high school pitcher taken No. 1 overall since the Yankees grabbed Brien Taylor in 1991. Aiken, a 6'4 205lb senior went 7-0 with a 1.06 ERA this past season. Aiken's fastball records in the 94mph, he has very strong curveball that reaches the 80s. Brady's best pitch maybe his change-up, he has good command of the ball.

Aiken is a man-child, who has made it known that he believes he's the best player in the draft and should be drafted number one. The Astros had the number one pick last year drafting Stanford pitcher, Mark Appel. With the addition of Brady Aiken look for the Astros will soon be must see tv.

Aiken models himself after David Price but is compared to a Cliff Lee. Brady has also has a verbal commitment to UCLA.
