What was Indiana Pacer's coach, Frank Vogel, thinking about when he took out Roy Hibbert with a one point lead and less than two seconds left in the game. Hibbert is one of the premiere defensive centers in the league and not having him under the basket looking to swat away a LeBron James LAYUP! Coach Vogel, you just out coached yourself! You don't lose a game on a LAYUP!
When you are trying to dethrone the champs, you cannot lose a game like this one. SMH!
Ladies and Gentlemen, if you didn't know by now, Indiana Pacers has a superstar on their team with two first names, and his name is PAUL GEORGE! This budding star has gone toe to toe with the MVP of the league, LeBron James in the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals. George and James put on a show tonight and at the end of the third quarter both players tried to out duel one another. It ended in a draw!
Check out the highlights below.
After Paul George took it to the Promise Land, King James responded.
Anything you can do, I can do better! Indiana Pacers redeemed themselves and pulled out a 97-93 victory in-game 2. Paul George finished the night out with 22pts,2rebs,6asst. LeBron James finished with a game high 36pts,8rebs,3ast. Can't ask for more, this series may go seven. Game 3 is on Sunday.
Someone please take the Defensive Player Of The Year trophy away from Marc Gasol and give it to LeBron James. Have you ever seen anyone block more shots on a fast break than LeBron. Just when we thought LBJ was hurt after stepping on Lance Stephenson's foot. What does LBJ do, he ties his shoe tighter then does this to George Hill:
It was a hell of a play but it wasn't enough as the Paceres win game four 99-92.
On what could have been a devastating blow to the Miami Heat. Chris Andersen was only given a flagrant and a technical foul when knocking Indiana Pacer's forward Tyler Hansbrough down in the second quarter of game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Andersen answered critics when they say Miami is soft, so he's trying to bring a little toughness to the squad but social media will wonder why Chris Andersen wasn't ejected for the push against Hansbrough. If you remember when Miami faced Chicago Bulls in the semi-finals, Nazr Mohammed was ejected for the push and flop of LeBron James. If Miami pulls game 5 out, Indiana Pacers may have a gripe why Andersen was able to continue playing.
Take a look at the video:
Watch the block of the Birdman moments later on Tyler.
The NBA suspended Miami Heat center Chris Andersen for Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals for his altercation with Indiana Pacers forward Tyler Hansbrough in Game 5 this past Thursday.
Still not understanding what Andersen was thinking when he attacked Hansbrough, who was knocked to the floor. After Tyler stood up, Chris got into his face again and pushed him. The confrontation gave both players an immediate technical foul. Though, I'm not sure why Hansbrough received one. The referees then gave Andersen a flagrant 1 and as of today the NBA Vice President, Stu Jackson handed down a flagrant 2 with a suspension.
Take a look at the video from Game 5:
The Birdman's absence will be missed because he's the best post player that the Heat has. So far in the playoffs he is a perfect 15-15 from the field and averaging 7pts and 4rbs in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Stephen Strasberg leaves the game in the second inning against the Atlanta Braves because of a muscular issue in his back. It's unfortunate that injuries are becoming a lingering issue but thank goodness it's not an arm issue. Strasberg has been solid so far this season with a 2.49ERA, 71Ks in 72IPs. It's unknown how sever the injury is or if he will miss anytime.
We all know how careful the Washington Nationals are with Strasberg as they kept Strasberg from participating in the playoffs last season and they will take every precaution that is necessary for their starting ace. Stephen finished the night with two strike outs and surrendered a home run to Freddie Freeman.
With both the Giants and the Rockies just a half game out of first place in the NL West, every game is a must win early in the year. These two teams are so evenly match that today's game went into extra innings before Rockies' star,Troy Tulowitzki, tried to end things in the top of the 10th inning when he smacked a solo shot for his 10th home run of the season and a 5-4 lead. San Fran had an answer in the bottom half as Brandon Crawford lead things off with a walk. Angel Pagan came up to the plate with one out and two strikes on him before hit sent one deep off the right-field wall and watch the rest:

Pagan's inside-the-park home run was heroic and landed them a 6-5 Giants victory.
Here is a quick peek at the upcoming Yu Darvish bobble head doll. The Texas Rangers will be handing out bobble heads to the first 20,000 Texas Ranger fans on June 11, 2013 when the Texas host the Cleveland Indians. If you take a good look at the photo, you will notice that the Yu Darvish bobble head doll has included a strikeout counter. This is a way for fans to keep track of each time the Ranger ace strikes out a batter. So far in ten appearances this season, Yu Darvish leads Major League Baseball in strikeouts with 91 and he has a total of 312 career strikeouts in his first 39 career starts as a pro.
New York Yankees center fielder, Curtis Granderson, left tonight's game in the 5th inning after he was hit in the left hand by a pitch. He did take his base and remained in the game to run for himself; but you could tell he was grimacing quite noticeably. Ichiro Suzuki relieved him in the bottom of the inning replacing Granderson in right field. Curtis' x-rays came showed a fracture on the knuckle of the left pinky. The last thing he wants to hear is another trip to the disabled list.
Granderson was just activated from the DL list just ten days ago. He had fractured his right forearm back in March. This is not the season Curtis had imagined after coming off an impressive 43HR and 106RBI season a year ago, the Yankees decided to pick up his 15 million dollar option for this season. So far this year he has missed 38 games and has managed to hit only 1HR and 1RBI.
It's Terry Francona's homecoming this weekend and he's running into all kinds of familiar foes including Red Sox play-by-play man Don Orsillo. In this video below, Cleveland manager, Terry Francona, shows off his dominance as he does his best WWE move on poor Don Orsillo!

It's good to see a playful side of the Terry Francona. Priceless!

Indiana Pacer's small forward, Paul George, has the hardest assignment in the Eastern Conference Finals by chasing the four-time MVP, LeBron James the whole game. So you can imagine why his offensive numbers aren't as impressive as he may want them to be. Paul is a meager 6-15 from the field with five turnovers; but that didn't keep him from hitting the game biggest shot. Miami was up 92-89 with less than two seconds to play and George fires up a 28-foot jumper that sends game one into overtime.
If you don't understand why LeBron James was pissed off when he wasn't name Defensive Player of The Year, then you need to watch this block on Roy Hibbert, who was attempting a dunk.
Come on Roy Hibbert, you are 7'2. Take it up strong!

Sergio, EVERYBODY IN AMERICA EATS FRIED CHICKEN! Though you are not from the U.S, you don't get a pass for your racist remark made toward Tiger Woods. In the last few weeks, the sports world has witnessed how much detest you have for the world's number one golfer. If you want to exchange insults with him then privately say it to his face! Sergio, don't be surprised if the African-Americans are offended by your choice of words, just ask Fuzzy Zoeller who also made the same inappropriate comment about "Fried Chicken." Zeller is a racist bigot who maliciously attacked Tiger Woods in front of the world back in 1997. Tiger Woods left Zoeller out to dry and Fuzzy was crucified for it.
In my opinion those words were 100% directed toward Tiger Woods. I don't think Sergio meant to offend me or other African-Americans, I don't know Sergio personally; but I haven't heard anything to lead me to believe he his a racist bigot but I have to hold him accountable.
The only reason Sergio Garcia apologized today was the $10-12 million dollar endorsements that he is probably trying to save.
I’m confident that there is real regret that the remark was made.
— Tiger Woods (@TigerWoods) May 22, 2013
Luckily for you Sergio, Tiger Woods was classy enough to rescue you by responding to your apology. I believe you can make a racist comment without being a racist. If I've made the same mistake I would pray someone would forgive me.
Look Sergio, if you want to get even with Tiger Woods, then you beat him on the playing course. Until then shut up and play golf.
Just when we thought it was okay to give the 2013 MVP to the last year's Triple Crown and MVP winner, Miguel Cabrera guess who decides to crash the party? Mike Trout, the sophomore sensation who finished second in the AL MVP vote last year. Trout had an answer to Cabrera's recent tear by hitting for the cycle on Tuesday night against the Seattle Mariners. Trout became the youngest player to hit for the cycle and the first player born in the '90s to accomplish such a feat!
The cycle started out shaky as he had barely beat out an in-field single to start things off in the third inning. Then he collected his second hit, an opposite field triple in the fourth inning off Aaron Harang. Mike's next opportunity came in the sixth inning against Lucas Luetge, that's when he hit a bases clearing double to put the Angels up 10-0. Last, but not least, Trout got a final at-bat in the eighth inning needing a home run to reach the cycle. He was facing Luetge again and smacked a 2-0 pitch over the center-field wall for a solo shot giving Mike Trout his first ever cycle. The last time the Los Angeles Angels had someone hit for the cycle was Chone Figgins in 2006.
Trout finished the game hitting for the cycle going 4-5 , stolen base and 5RBI as the Los Angeles Angels shutout the Seattle Mariners 12-0.
Mike's biggest fan, his MOM, tweeted to the world:
One proud Mama!!! Standing ovation at the Big A !!! TROUTSTANDING !!!

We can all put to rest whether or not Miguel Cabrera's "Triple Crown" season last year was a fluke or not. Going into Sunday night's game against the Texas Rangers, Miggy was leading the majors in hitting with a .384BA 8HR, and 46RBI. Then all of a sudden the Texas Rangers and baseball fans all over the nation witnessed the best hitter in the modern era. Cabrera put on a show as he muscled out three pitches over the wall, at The Ball Park of Arlington that traveled well beyond 1300 feet. He had a 3-run shot in the third, and a solo shot in the fifth, both against Derek Holland. He added another home run in the eighth against Tanner Scheppers which gives him 11HR, one off the American League lead. Cabrera went 4-4, 3HRs, single, intentional walk, 5RBI, and scored 4 runs and it still wasn't enough as his Detroit Tigers fell to the Rangers 11-8.
Miguel Cabrera has hit three home runs once before. It happened on May 28, 2010 against the Oakland A's.
As of right now, Cabrera is on track to have a better season than his Triple Crown season. If his immaculate pace continues he end up with a .387BA 42HR 181RBI OBP.457 SLG.659 and OPS 1.116!
Tayshaun Prince has one of the tougher assignments in guarding Kevin Durant in the playoffs so no one is expecting any big offensive production from the 10-year veteran. But that doesn't mean he can't provide a little spark and even a thunderous dunk on an occasion.
Take a look at old man Prince.
Don't judge an old man by its cover because he just showed the Thunder he can be a Prince!
Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies all over the world. Moms are famous for several reasons: For there nurturing, being a tad bit on the crazy side, and well, you know "MILF." Here at Sports-Kings we want to shed light on The 8 Famous Mommies In Sports.
8. Wilma McNabb: Mother of former NFL QB. Donovan McNabb courtesy of nextimpulsesports
Wilma McNabb is better known as America's Favorite Sports Mom. She became famous in her own right thanks to the Chunky Soup commercials, where she fed her son and teammates. She put an end to the fake mom on the commercial as it only made since for her to play the role of Donovan's mom since in fact she is his real mom!
7. Gloria James: Mother of NBA Super Star LeBron James
Gloria James, the proud mother of LeBron, you talking about someone who hit the lottery! I don't know who really is the parent here, her or LeBron. It's amazing that LeBron turn out to be spectacular on and off the court because of the antics his mother puts him through are disturbing. Slapping a hotel valet attendant while intoxicated, mouthing off with Boston Celtic's Paul Pierce after he fouled James hard during LeBron's Cleveland days, and of course the rumors of her and Delonte West!
6. Sonya Curry: Golden State Warrior's Super Star Steph & Former Duke standout Seth Curry
The Milf, the most talked about mom in college basketball, I sure hope she starts showing up to some of these NBA games now since both of her kids are done with the NCAA. There have been countless of times that she is compared to the beautiful actress, Thandie Newton. Sonya, also was an athlete. She was a volleyball player at Virginia Tech, same place where she met her husband, former NBA player Dell Curry.
5. Ann Iverson: Mother of Former 76ers Great Alan Iverson
If you were an Allen Iverson fan, then you knew his mother quite well. She was trying to be just as hip as her trendsetting son. Then again she was just a baby herself as the mom and son duo are only fifteen years apart. When the initials A.I came about, one would wonder who you were talking about, Allen or Ann! Ann Iverson has to be at the top of the list of moms' who defends their son when he is right or wrong. Sometimes it's better if mom just stay out of it.
4. April Justin: Mother of Alabama recruit Landon Collins
Who says that mother's always knows best. Well Ms. Justin will tell you she does. Her son, Landon Collins, is one of the most coveted high school seniors in the country, chose to play football at Alabama next season. No brainer right, playing for Nick Saban and the national champions, Alabama Crimson Tide. Only problem was mommy didn't approve. Let's see how she felt about his decision and what she wants him to do.
3. Pamela Bryant: Mother of 5 Time L.A Laker Champ Kobe Bryant
courtesy of tmz
No child should ever think about putting his or her hands on their mom. Especially her neck and no Kobe didn't do such a thing, but he was probably thinking it. I suppose that Mother's Day won't be celebrated on Kobe's end as he has an ugly lawsuit over his childhood memorabilia. I guess since Kobe won't front mommy with more money for a new home, Pamela Bryant is taking matters in her own hands by selling items of her beloved son all the way back from his high school days. I have to say, MY LAMB!
2. Pamela McGee: Mother of Denver Nuggets Javale McGee
courtesy of NBA Mistress
Pamela was the first WNBA player to have a child play in the NBA. Pam is the overprotective mom who manages Javale's career. Lord knows what she maybe doing to Javale's social life when it comes to women! Fortunately we may soon see a reality show called Millionaire Mama’s Boy, starring Javale and Pam which will be airing on Oprah's network real soon.
The Hill family were compared to the Cosby show (Heathcliff & Claire) because it was rare to see an African-American couple, both having professional careers. She married a Yale graduate and former Dallas Cowboy running back, Calvin Hill. Mrs. Hill raised one of the most elegant, respectable gentleman that the NBA has ever had in Grant Hill. Oh by the way Janet Hill will always be linked with Hilary Clinton because they were roommates in college.
Happy Mother's Day

Mariano picks fun at himself while shagging fly balls.[/caption]
Little bit over a year ago New York Yankees pitcher, Mariano Rivera, twisted and tore his right ACL when he was shagging fly balls on the warning track at Kauffman Stadium, in Kansas City. The freak accident ended Rivera's season, the season that was supposed to be his last; but Mariano could not end his career on that note as he vowed to make a comeback and play the 2013 season.
Mariano has made a full recovery and he is back leading the American League in saves going into this weekend's series against the Kansas City Royals. Kauffman Stadium has taken caution to Mariano in a playful way since he has gone back to catching fly balls again. Just in case Mariano decides to participate in the festivities out in the outfield this weekend, the Royals went to extreme measures in covering their own A$$es!
It was like a parent watching somebody else's child being scolded by their father, and while that parent observed, he couldn't do nothing but CLAP in support of the dear ol 'dad. That's what it looked like when Chris Bosh jumped all over Mario Chalmers in the third quarter of Game 3 Friday night in Chicago. Just watch Joakim Noah's response.
As you can see, Joakim is a strong believer of strong disciplinarian!
If you thought Game 3 was going to be any different from the previous game then you have completely mistaken as it didn't take long for more technical fouls and an ejection took place in the second quarter. Bulls center Nazr Mohammed wasn't taking any mess from LeBron James after to finding himself on a weak push from James. James was immediately given a tech though Muhammad had wrapped him up which led to a foul. Mohammed retaliated with a two-handed shove, bringing LeBron to the floor and a quick ejection to Mohammed. It's only Game 3! Well more to come, oh by the way, Joakim was given a tech earlier for rough housing the Bird Man. Take a look below.
