New York Mets Send Mariano Rivera To Throw Out First Pitch

As Mariano Rivera's farewell tour continues, the best gesture any opponent has given him so far may have been tonight as the New York Mets showed the greatest closer of all-time the mound before the game. Mariano Rivera was given the ball to throw out the first pitch at Citi Field. Classy move by the Mets organization, Rivera represents the city and state of New York. It gets no better than that and well deserved.

Catching Rivera was Mets legend John Franco, who recorded 424 career saves of his own for the Amazin’s. Check out the video of the moment below.
