Remember all those boos Arod was getting Friday night from the home fans. All it took was Alex Rodriguez hitting his first home run of the year off Justin Verlander. Did you really think Yankee fans were going to boo that? It was Rodriguez 648 career home run that puts him only 12 behind Willie Mays, who sits fourth all-time. He also passed Stan Musial for sixth place all-time on the RBI list with a single in the third inning giving him 1,952. Take a look at Alex's first home run of the season. courtesy of mlb.com
So is this what Major League Baseball was afraid of? As long as Rodriguez continues to play he will continue to climb up the record books. Just remember he's only 96 hits away from joining the 3,000 hits club.
