Yes it's true. Tiger Woods shoots a second round (-9) under, 61 at Firestone Country Club. He sure could have used this round a couple of weeks ago in Scotland. Tiger's 61 ties his personal best as he was nine under in his first 13 holes flirting with 59 with 5 holes to go. It's unbelievable to think he only needed eleven one-putts through his first 13 holes. His only downfall was he didn't birdie any of the remaining holes. Tiger will take a commanding seven shot lead going into the weekend. Though it means nothing until he wins another major, Woods has to feel ecstatic about his play in the first two days of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. When asked if he was bummed about not shooting a 59 he replied:
"Am I disappointed?'" Woods said when asked about not getting to 59. "Absolutely not. 61 is pretty good. I'm not bummed."

Woods has already won four times this year and maybe a victory this weekend in Akron, Ohio will give him some momentum going into next weeks PGA Championship. It worked for The Open Champion, Phil Mickelson, who won in Scotland before winning his fifth major. We have to remember, Tiger's biggest issue is the weekend so we will see what happens the next two days.
