Miguel Tejada suspended 105 games for Adderall

For the second time this season the 39-year-old, Miguel Tejada, has tested positive for amphetamines. The 2002 American League MVP will serve the 105 game suspension right away. Tejada's suspension will be the third-longest non-lifetime ban in MLB history behind Alex Rodriguez 211 game still pending and Steve Howe's 119-game sanction in 1992. Tejada is currently on the 60-day disabled list with a strained calf muscle. The suspension would take him through the remainder of this season and parts of next season to be eligible to play again. Tejada was batting .288, three homers and 20 RBIs in 53 games. According to Yahoo Sports:

Tejada did not appeal the penalties and will begin serving them immediately from the 60-day disabled list, where the Royals placed him this week with a strained calf. After serving the remaining 41 games in Kansas City’s season, Tejada would be ineligible to play in the first 64 games of 2014, though one source close to Tejada indicated he is strongly leaning toward retiring.

This isn't the first time Miguel Tejada's name has been mention with PEDs. Miguel was included in the Mitchell Report back in December 2007. He was also was implicated by Rafael Palmeiro, who suggested that a supplement given to him by Tejada was responsible for the steroid entering his system. Tejada denied all allegations saying he only gave Palmeiro a vitamin B-12 shot. Tejada is another player that never tested for PEDs but admitted to buying more than $6,000 worth of human growth hormone, which he claimed to have thrown away before injecting. I guess it was worth it, the eight-time all-star career is probably over with now. .285 career batting average,307 lifetime home runs, and close to $100 million dollars made over a 16 year career. Can't beat that!
