Louisville Guard Kevin Ware Suffers Compound Fracture In Regional Finals

kevin Louisville guard Kevin Ware suffered what looked to be a Joe Thiesman compound fracture in the first half of the Cardinals' Midwest regional final against Duke on Sunday. All Ware was doing at the time was contesting a 3-point shot by Duke's Tyler Thornton; but when he landed on his right leg, it gave way and both Ware, and the Louisville bench knew instantly when they saw the tibia bone in his right leg appeared to be protruding from the skin. The game itself stopped for several moments and you can understand Louisville players were distraught about the situation. Ware asked to speak to his teammates and Pitino called them over. Then he was taken off the court on a stretcher and sent by ambulance to a local hospital.   Kevin Ware is from Atlanta, so he told Coach Pitino to win this game so he can go home!   WARNING: The video of Kevin Ware’s injury is gruesome.
