Dirk Nowitzki not only was able to shave off his "Shaggy" beard tonight; but he also reached a personal milestone becoming the 17th player in NBA history to score 25,000 career points.
Nowitzki reached the 25,000-point mark with a midrange jumper over Hornets' center Robin Lopez in the second quarter.
Dirk is coming off knee surgery this year and missed the first 29 games of the season. That is one of the reasons why the Dallas Mavericks will missed the playoffs for the first time in eleven seasons. Dirk finally has his legs back and looks to be his old self again. He scored 19 points tonight in a Maverick victory over the New Orleans Hornets and it looks as if Dirk has plenty of basketball left. As of right now he sits number 17 on the all-time NBA scoring list and its very possible that he will pass Hall of Fame players such as Jerry West, KG(who is still active), Reggie Miller, Alex English, and possibly John Havlicek if he stays healthy next season placing him right at 11th all-time. In the mean time congratulations to Mr. Nowitzki on your milestone.
